Alice Centrone
Alice Centrone joined NPWJ Brussels office in July 2011 as fellow in the framework of the “Master dei Talenti” Program funded by the Italian Foundation CRT of Turin. In this capacity, she is contributing to advocacy and program activities, in particular in support of the FGM Programme and in the organisation of the LGBTI Rights Campaign.
Prior to joining NPWJ, she worked in “Paralleli” (Euro-Mediterranean Institute), carrying out networking activities with institutions and stakeholders of the northern and southern shores of the Mediterranean and promotion of public awareness initiatives. She also served as Project Manager Assistant within the Business Development Unit of an international consulting company, involved in the preparation of tender proposals submitted to the European Commission.
Alice also completed several “field experiences”, spending six months in Senegal to conduct two surveys on food security and micro-finance issues, in the framework of projects co-financed by the European Commission. She also served, for almost a year term in Burkina Faso, as volunteer in the framework of a project of international civil service, focused to promote children, women and young people’s rights. The project included vocational training and awareness campaign against the practice of female genital mutilation.
Alice holds a Bachelor Degree in Cooperation and development (March 2007) and a Master Degree in Cooperation, development and transnational markets (March 2010) from the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Turin, Italy.
